Publication Ethic

Iltifat: Journal of Qur'an and Hadith Studies upholds the highest standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity, transparency, and quality of all published works. Adhering to ethical guidelines is essential for maintaining trust among authors, editors, reviewers, and readers. The journal follows ethical principles based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) framework.

For Authors:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submitted works are original and have not been published elsewhere. Proper citation and acknowledgment must be given for any referenced works.
  • Accurate Reporting: Authors are required to present accurate and objective results of their research. Deliberate falsification or misrepresentation of data is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship: Authorship should reflect individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript. All co-authors must agree to the final version before submission.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence their research.

For Editors:

  • Fair and Objective Evaluation: Editors must evaluate submissions based on academic merit, relevance, and adherence to the journal’s focus and scope, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or political affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are treated confidentially and that no information is disclosed to parties outside the editorial team and reviewers.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
  • Decision Responsibility: Editors are responsible for the final decision to accept or reject a manuscript based on its quality and compliance with ethical standards.

For Reviewers:

  • Confidentiality: All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared with others without prior permission from the editors.
  • Objective Feedback: Reviewers must provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers must identify any relevant work not cited by the authors and report any instances of suspected plagiarism or ethical misconduct.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their ability to provide an unbiased review.

For the Publisher:
